W. James Exceen, 81, of Maryville, MO, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018, at his home in Maryville from Parkinson’s Disease.
He was born on September 24, 1936 in Hastings, NE, the son of the late Stanley Exceen and Lesta Burkholder Exceen.
He attended high school in Coin Iowa and graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Master’s Degree in Industrial Arts. He taught high school for several years and had also taught at the university in Maryville. He owned and operated Exceen Signs for over 40 years until his disease forced him to retire.
He married Wanda Hensley on December 5, 1958, sharing 59 years together.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dencil and Dennis; and sisters, Colleen and Deana.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda, of the home; son, Robert and daughter in law Juanita, of Kansas City, MO; sister, June Miller and husband Bob of Shenandoah, IA; sister in laws, Macel Tuck of Shenandoah, IA, and Janice Hensley of Sidney, IA; and brother in law Wayne Hensley of Riverton, IA.
Mr. Exceen has been cremated under the care of the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 12, 2108, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home.
