Stephen R. Stiens, a beloved resident of Skidmore, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 1st, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on April 3rd, 1955, in Maryville, Missouri, Stephen lived a life full of love, dedication, and simplicity.

Stephen attended Northwest Missouri State University (NWMSU) and spent his life working as a farmer, a profession he cherished deeply. As a self-employed farmer, he dedicated his days to raising cows and chickens, embracing the simple joys of rural life. Stephen was known for his warm heart and friendly nature, having formed lasting friendships within the Amish community. His love for ice cream and sweets, particularly Amish cinnamon rolls, was well-known among family and friends.

Stephen is survived by his loving children: sons Matthew (Janet) Stiens, Levi Stiens, and Travis (Angela) Stiens; daughters Monica (Bob) Lally, Lisa (Clint) Youse, and Khrystyne Stiens. He was a proud grandfather to Jillian (Trevor) McCrary, Megan (Garret) Ragland, Rebecca (Braden) Schwebach, Ashlyn Lally, Aubrey Youse, Caroline Youse, Rachel Lally, Gavin Stiens, Sophia Stiens, Henry Youse, and Micheal (Taylor) Clements. Stephen also leaves behind cherished great-grandchildren Colton Clements, Lincoln Clements, and Dustin Schwebach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Leo Stiens and Dorothy Eileen Stiens; his beloved wife, Susan Stiens; his son, Eli Stiens; and his father and mother-in-law, William and Evelyn Meyer.

Stephen's life will be celebrated with a visitation at Bram Funeral Home in Maryville, MO, on Thursday, May 7th, 2026, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Friday, May 8th, 2026, at 10:00 am. Pallbearers honoring Stephen's memory will be Tim Fuhrman, Jim Fuhrman, Royce Clement, Bob Heck, David Thurnau, and Scott Clement. There will be a burial at a later date at Burr Oak Cemetery in Skidmore, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Burr Oak Church or Burr Oak Cemetery.

Stephen R. Stiens will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his passion for farming, and his love for the simple pleasures in life. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Arrangements are provided by Bram Funeral Home.
