Stephanie Ann Rucker

Stephanie Ann Rucker, 64, of Hopkins, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, MO. Born on November 24th, 1960, in Maryville, MO, Stephanie lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to her family and community.

Stephanie is survived by her devoted husband, James Rucker, of Hopkins, MO, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage. She leaves behind her loving mother, Anita Dougherty of Maryville, MO, and her three sons: James ME Rucker of Hopkins, MO, Seth (Stacey) Rucker of Bolckow, MO, and Javan Rucker of Maryville, MO. Stephanie was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren: Corbyn, Lakota, Savannah, Kayla, Taylor, Wesley, Waylee, Joie, Faith, and a baby Rucker expected to arrive in March.

She is also survived by her brother, Kevin Dougherty of Clearmont, MO, and her sister, Andrea (Joe) Leader of Greenville, TX. Stephanie was preceded in death by her father, Merrill Edwin Dougherty, both sets of grandparents, a brother-in-law, Kenny Pullen, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Brown.

A graduate of North Nodaway High School, Stephanie dedicated 25 years of her career as a factory laborer at Energizer Battery in Maryville, MO. Following her time at Energizer, she served as a dispatcher for 13 years at the Nodaway County Sheriff's office, where she was known for her commitment and professionalism.

Stephanie had a passion for hunting, sewing, cooking, and baking. Above all, she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She also enjoyed her four legged grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Bram Funeral Home. Stephanie's family will gather for a graveside service July 2, 2025 at 9:00 am at the Hopkins Cemetery in Hopkins, MO to celebrate her life and the many ways she touched those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
