Sandra Marie Mires passed away on Friday, July 31st, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on March 3rd, 1942, in Maryville, Missouri, Sandra lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to others.

Sandra was a graduate of North Nodaway High School. Her career was marked by her compassionate work as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at several nursing homes, including the Nodaway Nursing Home. Her nurturing spirit and dedication to caring for others left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Sandra was a woman of many talents and interests. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as solving puzzles, embroidering, and bird watching at her feeders. She was an avid scrapbooker and found joy in sending handwritten letters to friends and family. Sandra was also a fan of the Game Show Network, the Kentucky Derby, and was a devoted supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.

Throughout her life, Sandra worked various jobs, from being a butcher on the farm to waitressing, and she embraced each role with enthusiasm and dedication. Her strong work ethic and versatility were admired by all who knew her.

Sandra is survived by her loving children: sons Billy (Athena) Mires of Pickering, MO, and Randy (Becky) Mires of Conception Jct., MO; daughters Sandy (Tracy) Holley of El Reno, OK, and Amy (David) Smyser of Hopkins, MO. She is also survived by her brother Richard (Karen) Swaney of Sheridan, MO, and her cherished grandchildren: Savannah, Crisstan, Alexis, ReAnne, Katlyn, Braden, Samantha, Dayne, Shayli, and Ashlyn, as well as five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Trevell Swaney; her husband of 50 years, Richard Mires; her brother, Dean Swaney; and her son, Ronnie Mires.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Laura Street Baptist Church in Maryville, MO, on Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service to celebrate Sandra's life will be held at the same church on Wednesday, August 5th, 2026, at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Miriam Cemetery in Maryville, MO.

Arrangements are under the care of Bram Funeral Home. Sandra's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
