Robert Lee "Bob" Johnson, 65, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025, at KU Medical Center. Born on September 4, 1959, in Maryville, MO, Bob was a member of the Barnard community.
Bob earned his Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus on Physical Education. He worked for Hy-Vee and Lowe's, his true passion was coaching and teaching, roles in which he took great pride.
A sports enthusiast, Bob was a successful basketball and baseball player, continuing to play both sports well beyond his high school years. Later in life, he found joy in slow-pitch softball. His love for sports was matched only by his devotion to his family. Bob was a caregiver for his parents for over two decades, a testament to his selflessness and love. He cherished every moment spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his father, Larry Johnson of Barnard, MO; his sons, Adam (Emily) Johnson of Wentzville, MO, and Alex (Kaitlyn) Johnson of Omaha, NE; his daughter, Abby Johnson of Omaha, NE; his brother, Richard (Teresa) Johnson of Barnard, MO; and his sisters, Arlene (Randy) Ward of Maryville, MO, and Janet (Dick) Peve of Kansas City, KS. He leaves behind four grandsons, Timmy, Jack, Teddy and Henry Johnson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Ruth Johnson, his niece, Rachel Anderson, and his brother-in-law, Greg Anderson.
Bob's life was a testament to the power of love, dedication, and community. He will be remembered for his commitment to his family, his passion for sports, and his generous spirit. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
There will be a visitation at 10 am, Saturday, July 26th at the Bram Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home.
Bob will be laid to rest in the Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville, Missouri.
