Richard Duane Barger, 79, of Maryville, Missouri, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, October 24th, 2024. Richard passed due to complications from dementia.
Born on July 24th, 1945, Richard lived a life filled with dedication, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
Richard was the Central Supply Manager at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville. Richard dedicated 52 years to his occupation,
Beyond his professional life, Richard found joy in the comfort of his home and the beauty of his well-kept yard and took immense pride in his work.
Richard's passion extended to his love for sports. He could often be found watching games on TV, his favorite teams; the Chiefs, Royals and Mizzou especially.
Preceding in death were his parents, Duane and Lola (Lyle) Barger and his father and mother-in-law, Bernard and Mary Treese, his son, David Barger, and his sister Judy Rodrick
Richard leaves behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and a heart full of love for those around him. His memory will live on in the stories shared by those who knew him well and in the spaces he so lovingly tended.
On November 17, 1962, Richard was united in marriage to Nancy Kaye Treese, in Maryville, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include his brother Ben Barger, Maryville, Missouri, his children, Paula (Steve) Holtman, Conception, Missouri, Paul (Donna) Barger, Brookfield, Missouri, his 9 grandchildren, Matthew (Kaity) Holtman, Melissa (Paul) Jensen, Adam (Karissa) Holtman, Alex (Danea) Holtman, Jayme (Blake) DeVoy, Abby (Kyle) Wilkerson, Katie Barger and Alex DeJong, Claire (Tanner) Millar, Maggie Barger, and Craig Welshon, 17 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard had been cremated under the care of the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri
Funeral arrangements: Friends and family are invited to celebrate Richard's life on Monday, October 28, 2024. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM, followed by the memorial service at the Bram Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Richard's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
