Elmer Ray Fox passed away peacefully on, June 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, family and ingenuity. He was born to Elmer Harvey Fox and Opal Fox on July 22, 1943. He was 81.

Ray was fortunate to share his life with two loving spouses. He was first married to Sharon Kay in 1961 until her death in 2001, and later found love again with Barbara Fox, whom he married in 2002 and cherished until his passing.

Known for his skill and curiosity as a machinist and mechanic, Ray was a perpetual tinkerer, always ready to dismantle and rebuild anything that caught his interest. His cleverness and inventive spirit remained vibrant throughout his life, showcasing his endless fascination with how things worked. He loved the outdoors whether hunting, fishing, caring for his wide variety of farm animals or just sitting on the front porch.

Ray was preceded in death by his siblings, Elda, Melba, Virgil and Steve and his son Glenn Fox.

Ray is survived by his devoted wife Barbara Fox, a sister, Lina Berry Rankin, his cherished children, John (Sandy) Fox, David (Sharon) Fox, a daughter-in-law, Karen Fox, and beloved bonus children Jaime (Eric) Apperson, Misty (Royce) Clement, Jillian Porter (Tyson Matheny), and Bradley Porter.

Ray was proud of his grandchildren: Benjamin (Mandy) Fox, Sarah Fox, Savannah (Lee) Apperson-Casteel, Brylie (Michael) Abrams, Nathan (Emily) Fox, Sophia Fox, Melissa (Maisie) Yeager, Christopher Fredricks, Ethan Fredricks, Halie (Logan) Hurley-Worth, Ayden Apperson, Macen Shurvington, Brandon Eckert, Katelynn Crawford, Chris Clement, Tucker (Nicole) Schweback, Whitney (Dakota Johnson) Shurvington, and Daniel Fox.

He was also deeply loved by his 31 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren ensuring that his legacy of love, warmth and curiosity continues for generations.

Ray's life will be celebrated by family and friends, who remember him fondly as a loving family man, a dedicated machinist, and an eternal tinkerer. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.

There will be a visitation for family and friends at 9:30 am Saturday June 21, 2025 at the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Following the service Ray will be taken to the Union Star Cemetery for burial.
