Randal Joseph Porter, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2nd, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on August 23rd, 1962, in Maryville, Missouri, Randal spent his entire life in the community he cherished.
A graduate of Northeast Nodaway High School, Randal was a lifelong learner, continually enhancing his skills through Vo-Tech classes. He dedicated his career to Laclede Chain in Maryville, Missouri, where he worked as a professional maintenance mechanic. His colleagues remember him as a diligent and skilled worker, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Randal was a man of many passions. He found joy in bow hunting, fishing, and gardening. His skill for restoring older cars was well-known, and he took great pride in the cabin project he meticulously worked on along the river. An enthusiast of homemade wine, Randal cultivated his own fruit trees, sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. He cherished the time spent camping and traveling with his late wife, Rhonda, and their loyal dog, Dozer.
Randal is survived by his loving children: son Anthony Ferguson of Maryville, MO, and daughters Misty Ferguson and Samantha (Jonathon) King, both of Maryville, MO. He was a proud grandfather to Shaylyn, Andrew, Aiden, Kairi, Delilah, Oliver, and Maxine. Randal is also survived by his siblings, Carolyn (Hodge) Holtman, Sue (Mike) Burch, Mary (Jerry) Bradshaw, Sandy (Steve) Schieber, Kenny (Tammy) Porter, Linda (Gary) Greeley, Jerry (Cheryl) Porter, Dennis (Mika) Porter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Randal also leaves his friend and companion, Rita Ware, to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Dean Porter and Doris Marie Porter, his beloved wife Rhonda Porter, and his brother Bill Porter.
Visitation will be held at St. Gregory Barbarigo Parish in Maryville, MO, on Thursday, August 6th, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a prayer service prior at 4:30. A funeral service will follow at the same location on Friday, August 7th, 2026, at 10:00 am. The family plans to bury Randal and Rhonda together at White Oak Cemetery in Pickering, MO at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Bram Funeral Home.
Randal's legacy of love, hard work, and passion for life will be remembered by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
