Quitman

Ramona was born on June 1, 1935 in Parnell, MO to Raymond & Nellie (Hawk) Jobst. She joined siblings Evelyn, Noel “Bud”, Richard and Robert.

She attended school in Parnell until it consolidated with Ravenwood her senior year in 1953.

The summer after she graduated on July 25,1954, she married Donald LaVelle Brodrick in Clarksdale, MS. This was the first of many cross-country trips the couple would embark on.

In 1955 they moved to Chadwick, IL where they welcomed their first child Linda DiAnn. From there they moved to El Segundo, CA where they welcomed Curtis Raymond “Randy” in 1957. After moving back to Missouri, they welcomed Brenda Ru Nell on August 15, 1959 while living outside of Maryville and Mary Olive on June 13, 1962. After moving to Pickering, MO they welcomed Donald Eugene on September 4, 1964.

Sorrowfully her husband Don passed away on March 4, 1965.

In 1973 she gained bonus daughters Elizbeth “Liz” and Rebecca “Becky” who have remained family ever since.

Ramona loved a fast-paced card game, especially if it was Canasta or 14 Point Pitch. If someone was taking to long to play, she would tell them to quit messing around and play your cards Johnny! She enjoyed playing cards right up to her final days.

She never lost her love of travel. At 91 years young she took her first plane ride to visit her brother Richard in Goldendale, WA.

Ramona suffered a massive stroke on Labor Day and passed away September 12th surrounded by her family.
