Marlyn Robert Beattie was born on August 19th, 1938, on a farm outside of Barnard, MO. He passed away on December 24th, 2025, at Pine View Manor in Stanberry, MO.
Marlyn lived most of his life between Barnard, MO and Marshall, MO. He worked many years at Land Construction and Herzog Construction.
He was known for living a simple life and had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed bringing chocolates from the local grocery store to his grand children at Christmas time just to see their faces light up. Some of his favorite pastimes were feeding the ducks, geese, Baltimore orioles, and hummingbirds. He also spent many hours watching over his son and grandson's cattle herd, especially at calving time. Marlyn had many friends and enjoyed going to one of the many local coffee/pop hangouts with the guys.
Marlyn was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Donna Mushaney, his father, Clyde A. Beattie, his mother, Bertha E. (Nelson) Beattie, his brothers, Clyde Dean, Donald Lee, J.T., and Ronnie, and his sister, Mary Lou.
He is survived by his son, Mark (Joy) Beattie, his daughter, Melinda (Mike) Dennis, his grandchildren, Alyssa, Rachelle, Matthew, Kameron, and Schylar, and several great grandchildren.
Graveside services to be planned for a later date. He will be buried in a Barnard Masonic Cemetery.
