Luke M. Violett

Luke Matthew Violett, 45, of Guilford, Missouri, passed away at home on Thursday, April 18, 2024, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Luke was born on September 15, 1978 to Stephanie L. Chapel (Karly) and Rodney B. Violett, in Grand Junction, Colorado.  Luke was raised by his Ma, Stephanie L. Chapel, and his Pa, Steven S. Chapel.  Luke graduated from Fruita Monument High School in 1997 and immediately joined the United States Marine Corps.

During Luke’s service to his country, he proudly worked as a helicopter turbine mechanic, he was a door gunner on a CH46 helicopter during his 2004 tour in Afghanistan, and later became a career recruiter at RS Kansas City.  He retired from the Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant after 21 successful and honorable years.

After his military retirement, he wasn’t done leading and inspiring others.  He joined the Tenneco/Federal Mogul family as the Operations Manager in September 2017 and continued to seek self improvement by attending Northwest Missouri State University where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Management in 2022.

Luke and Kimberly Jeanne Kelso, were married on July 5, 2013, in Maryville, Missouri. Luke was a loving husband and father.

He was always positive and looking for ways to better himself personally and professionally.  He also loved to motivate and inspire others around him to strive for greatness. In his free time, Luke enjoyed all things gun related, turning wrenches, watching the sunrise, and just spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Kimberly Violett, Guilford, Missouri.  His children, Timothy Violett, Harrisonburg, Virginia; William Violett, Harrisonburg, Virginia, Chase Reiske, Guilford, Missouri; Bennett Violett, Las Cruces, New Mexico; Luke Violett Jr., Guilford, Missouri; and Lane Violett, Guilford, Missouri. His parents, and his brother, Bryan Matthews, Livingston, Louisiana.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri. The burial, with full military honors, will follow in Weathermon Cemetery, Guilford, Missouri.
