Kenneth Leroy VanFosson, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on Saturday, August 15th, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on February 26, 1934, in College Springs, Iowa, he made his home on the family farm near Elmo, Missouri.

Kenneth graduated from College Springs High School and spent his life doing what he knew best, working hard. A lifelong farmer, he raised pigs and row crops on his farm near Elmo, Missouri. When he wasn’t farming, Kenneth could often be found in his wood shop. He enjoyed woodworking, craft fairs, telling jokes, and finding plenty of opportunities to make those around him smile.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Isabelle (Caskey) VanFosson; his beloved wife, Shirley (Teuscher); his sister, Mary Jean Murch; and his daughter, Shelly Dunn (Chuck). He is survived by his son, Jason (Lori) VanFosson of Braddyville, Iowa; daughters Cathy (Terry) Lesher of Westboro, Missouri, and Dorene (Herb) Richmond of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and his sister, Marjorie Virgillito of Des Moines, Iowa. Kenneth was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren and was blessed with many great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The last several years of Kenneth’s life were spent surrounded by family, with his granddaughter Jayne, her husband Ky, and their children, Ryker, Ruger, and Raelynn, sharing in his everyday life and helping care for him. Those years brought countless ordinary moments, stories, laughter, and memories that will forever be treasured.

Visitation will be held at Bram Funeral Home in Maryville, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in College Springs, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elmo Betterment Club. Kenneth will be remembered for his hard work, humor, love of family, and a life rooted in farming and the communities he called home.
