Karen Jean Giesken, age 62, of Parnell, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 30th, 2024, at the Mosaic Life Care, in St. Joseph, Missouri.
She was born on August 29th, 1962, in Maryville, Missouri to the late Forest "Gene" and Betty (Tibbetts) Emery, she was a lifelong resident of the area. She moved to Parnell in 1998.
Karen was the owner/operator of her own sanitation business in Maryville. In 1998, she was united in marriage to Fred Giesken and he survives of the home.
Her parents preceded her in death, as well as her son, Bryan Allen, and her sister, Virginia Billings.
She was a free spirit who enjoyed rock hunting, swimming in rivers and creeks, camping, campfires and s'mores. She liked to bartend and considered herself a mixologist. She was known for her baking skills and most famously for her cinnamon rolls. She loved to surprise her friends and loved ones with intentional gifts. She was an animal lover and loved her dog and 3 cats. Karen was a proud mother and grandmother who cherished her family above all.
Karen leaves behind a legacy of love; her husband, her loving children, Shawna (Nick) Davis, Dustin Allen, Lacey (Chris) Raymond, Max (Savana) Giesken, Brad Giesken, and Heather Harris. She is also survived by her brothers, Tony Emery, Terre Haute, Indiana, and Terry Emery, Edgerton, Missouri, and her 23 grandchildren, one great grandchild, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the Laura Street Baptist Church in Maryville, Missouri. The burial will follow in the Parnell Cemetery, Parnell, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until service on Wednesday at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Bram Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New Nodaway Humane shelter in memory of Karen. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
