Judy Ann (Teschner) Denney passed away surrounded by family on April 9, 2026, after recent health issues. Judy was born on March 29, 1945, to Clyde and Rufena Teschner in St. Joseph, Missouri, the oldest of their five children. Judy graduated from Benton High School and Northwest Missouri State College. Over the next three decades, she taught elementary students in St. Joseph, Ralls County, and North Andrew School Districts.
Judy married Warren Denney on August 12, 1971, and they became the proud parents of Eli and Charity. After a few years in Hannibal, Barnard became their family’s home. Many of their evenings and weekends were spent at Eli’s basketball and Charity’s softball games. They also enjoyed camping and road trips together. Upon retirement, Judy and Warren traveled throughout the United States to encourage missionaries and assist in ministry-related construction projects. They also continually supported their grandchildren, nieces, and nephews in sports and activities.
Above all, Judy followed her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. “Always keep God’s promises in your mind and heart. They’re worth more than any treasure life can offer,” she wrote. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Maryville, where she taught children’s Sunday school classes, Awana classes, and Vacation Bible School over the years. Judy was a prayer warrior for her family and friends, always pointing them to trust in Jesus. Her listening ear, thoughtfulness, and encouraging spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jennifer Teschner, brothers Russ Teschner and Kent Teschner, and parents-in-law True and Avice Denney.
Survivors include her husband Warren Denney, son Eli (Sarah) Denney, daughter Charity (Corey) Goll, sister Jayne (Tim) Ellis, sisters-in-law Gail Teschner and Nancy Teschner, grandchildren Lexie, Haleigh, Quinten, Jaxsen, Gage, Aiden, Max, and Rowenna, great-grandchildren Khari and Reef (due summer), and many nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be at First Baptist Church at 10 AM on April 17, 2026. Funeral Service will be at the same location on the same day at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Bennett Lane Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home.
