James Allen Jones

James "Jim" Allen Jones, age 75, passed away on July 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born to Edna Johnson Jones and Francis Jones on March 22, 1951, at his family home in Skidmore, Missouri, Jim spent nearly his entire life in the community he loved and called home.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1974. Following his military service, he worked for Carbide/Eveready, in construction, assisted local farmers, and spent many years as a truck driver. Throughout his career, he was known for his willingness to help others.

Jim found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing, collecting rocks, watching birds, spending time with his faithful dog, Katie, and making memories with family and friends. He was also well known for his "lectures," sharing his opinions, stories, and life lessons with anyone willing-or not willing-to listen. His straightforward nature, quick wit, and unmistakable personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Edna Johnson Jones and Francis Jones; his brothers, Forrest Jones, Billy Jones, Francis "Russ" Jones, and Richard Jones; his sisters, Maxine Wall and Joan Taylor; his brothers-in-law, Sam Wall, Jim Taylor, Fred Poppa, Jimmy Poppa, Larry Poppa, and Terry Poppa; and his sisters-in-law, Micky Wallace, Marjorie Jones, and Sharon Poppa.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Anna "Poppa" Jones; his sister, Karen Jones; his daughters, Adrean Plummer and her husband, Jerrod Plummer, and Christin Blanchard and her partner, Kerry Franklin; and his son, Jason Bierman. He is also survived by his sisters-in- law, Mary Price and her husband, Jerry Price, Marlene Poppa, Rita Poppa, and Heidi Poppa; and his brothers-in-law, Harold "J.R." Poppa and his wife, Donna, and Richard Poppa and his wife, Mary.

Jim was a proud grandfather to Bailea Wyckoff, Treyton Plummer and his wife, Jess Plummer, and Kreeden Cardwell, and a cherished great-grandfather to Rowynn Wyckoff and Rorye Wyckoff. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

Jim's legacy is one of service, loyalty, and unwavering love for his family. He will be remembered for his generous heart, colorful conversations, appreciation for the outdoors, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, his stories, laughter, and enduring spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

The family invites all who knew Jim to honor his memory by spending time outdoors, casting a fishing line, watching the birds, or simply sharing a story with family and friends- just as he would have wanted.

Arrangement are under the care of Bram Funeral Home. There will be a Graveside Service on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 10:00 am at Hillcrest Cemetery in Skidmore, Missouri.
