Independence, Missouri

Jeffery Dale Bodle, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1st, 2026, at his home in Independence, Missouri. Born on March 9th, 1954, in Mound City, Missouri, Jeffrey lived a full life.

Jeffery was a graduate of Nodaway Holt High School. Shortly after graduation, he joined the Navy, serving his country with honor aboard the USS Saratoga during the Vietnam War from 1972 to 1974. His time in the Navy was a testament to his courage and commitment, values he carried throughout his life.

After his military service, Jeffery found his calling as a manager at Molle Chevrolet Truck Shop after he spent several years as an over the road trucker.

Jeffery had a zest for life and a wide array of interests. He was a passionate participant in competition BBQs, a lover of motorcycles, and an enthusiast of tractor pulls. His mechanical skills were unmatched, and he enjoyed working on vehicles in his spare time. Jeffery also had a playful side, delighting in playing Santa Claus and bringing joy to children as a clown at birthday parties, a skill he honed at clown college. He cherished the tranquility of fishing and the adventure of camping, but above all, he treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa Bodle, of the home; his sons, Robert (Amanda) Bodle of Parnell, MO, Jeffrey (Bailey) Bodle Jr. of Ravenwood, MO, and Sean (Natalie) Murray of Independence, MO; his daughters, Amy (Liz) Shelton Priebe of St. Joseph, MO, and Sasha Moore of Maryville, MO; his sister, Jacqueline Denise (Calvin) Powell of Raytown, MO; and his step-father, Clifford Mills of Raytown, MO. Jeffrey was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Eugene Bodle and Loretta Sue Patterson, his brother, Jimmy Dean Bodle, and his favorite dog, Ellie May.

Visitation will be held at Bram Funeral Home in Maryville, MO, on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
