Janet Sue Giesken-Lekey
Janet Sue passed away August 10, 2026 at her home in Burlington Junction, Missouri.
Janet was born at Landfather's Hospital in Maryville, Missouri to James & Neva Dean Giesken of Pumpkin Center on September 23, 1946.
Upon the untimely death of her father, Neva & Janet moved to Burlington Junction. A few years later Neva married Janet's Dad Jerry Davison & had sister Janette Kay and brothers Jerry Dean, Jerol Ben (Pesty) and Jimmy Lee. She graduated from West Nodaway R-1 High School in 1964. She had a son J. Kevin in 1964, a daughter Kimberly in 1967 when she married Dale Lekey. They then had Karrisa & Kameron. Janet & Dale divorced after 38 years of marriage. Janet retired from from NWMS University after working 30 years in the Registrar's office. She enjoyed working so took a part-time job at MFA Propane following her retirement.
Janet became an avid basketball fan after following the West Nodaway Rockets Basketball team featuring her niece JayLee Davison, nephew Jesse Davison, granddaughter Kylie Lacox, as well as many students she came to consider family. Janet also enjoyed watching Chiefs football, quilting, reading, ancestry research & time with friends & family.
She was preceded in death by father James Giesken, mother Neva Dean Davison, dad Jerry Davison, brother Jimmy Lee Davison, nephew Jesse Davison, granddaughter Bailey Giesken & ex-husband Dale Lekey.
She is survived by sons Kevin Giesken & Kameron Lekey & daughters Kimberly Bush & Karrisa Lacox, grandchildren Ashley & Chelley Giesken, Christopher Samuels, Tawny Bush, Leksi Wilson, Kylie Wimberly, Kolten, Riley & Kale Lekey, Grayson & Silas Samuels, great grandchildren Gavin Brace, Sofia Krznaric, Emmie Kate & Lawton Wimberly, sister, Jeanette Denniston, two brothers, Jerry Dean Davison and Jerol "Pesty" Davison, niece JayLee Davison-McGary as well as many friends & beloved family.
Arrangement are under the care of Bram Funeral Home.
There will be a graveside service at Ohio Cemetery in Burlington Junction, Missouri on August 14, 2026 at 1:00 pm. There will not be a visitation per Janet's wishes.
