Darla J. Wilmes

Darla Jean Wilmes, 74, of Platte City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025. Born on February 27, 1951, Darla was raised in Jameson, Missouri, and later resided in Lawson, Missouri, before making her most recent home in Platte City.

Darla's life was enriched by her passions. She cherished her extensive book collection and loved spending time with her horses and chickens on the farm in Lawson. Darla also found great comfort and enjoyment in listening to her favorite country music artists.

She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Fred Wilmes, and her two sons, Shane and Clint. Darla is also survived by her brother, Frank, and her two sisters, Doris and Donna Kay. Her presence will be deeply missed.

In accordance with Darla's wishes, her remains will be spread about the Jameson, Missouri bridge. Immediate family has not yet set a service date but will update family members when arrangements are finalized. The family kindly requests that no flowers or other arrangements be made.
