It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Lynn McClurg, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Donald passed away on Friday, April 3rd, 2026, at the age of 67, in his hometown of Maryville, Missouri.
Donald was born on November 23rd, 1958, in Maryville, Missouri, where he spent his entire life surrounded by family and friends. He was a graduate of Maryville High School and spent his career serving as a Stationary Engineer (Boiler Operator) for the State of Missouri Corrections. Known for his unwavering dedication, Donald was a vigilant employee who never took time off or missed work.
Donald was a man of many passions. He was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting and gardening. His meticulous nature was evident in everything he did, from tinkering and fixing things to maintaining his garden. Moreover, Donald had a deep love for farming and raising his sheep. Above all, Donald cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, Colter and Jersey McClurg, and loved watching his son, Joseph, play sports.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Melanie McClurg, of the home; his devoted mother, Kae McClurg of Ava, MO; his son, Joseph (Taylor) McClurg of Maryville, MO; his brothers, Rob McClurg of Sunrise Beach, MO, and Jim McClurg of Ava, MO; and his cherished grandchildren, Colter and Jersey McClurg. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Larry McClurg; his father and mother in law Bernard and Margaret Frueh; his sister, Leslie Christina Hamlin; and his grandparents, Leonard and Thelma Froyd, and Vilis and Mina McClurg.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Bram Funeral Home in Maryville, MO, on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Wednesday, April 8th, 2026, at 10:00 am.
