Deloris Jane Martin

Deloris “Jane” Martin left this earth November 17th, 2025, at Homestead Assisted Living, Leavenworth, KS, at the age of 98. She was born on September 16th, 1927, to Letha Mae (Hicks) Zachary and Harold Kinney Zachary of Mound City, MO, raised as an only child on the dairy farm. She became an avid reader and thrived in school. She attended Mound City High School, graduating with the class of 1945.

She married Gene R. “Bob” Martin on January 1st,1948 and moved to the Martin family farm in the Burr Oak community of Skidmore, MO, where they were parents to Sue, Paul and Kent. She lived most of her life as the wife of a farmer and was active in her community and church. She devoted many hours supporting her family at their scholastic and sporting events. 

She began her 30+ years in banking in February 1971, continuing part-time into her 80s. In her retirement years, she enjoyed gardening, her church, going for rides to get ice cream anytime someone said, “let’s go to town and see what’s happening”.

Jane preceded in death by her husband Bob on December 3rd, 1990, and her parents. Survivors are her children Sue, Paul and Kent (Dana). Her grandchildren Jason (Christy) Patterson, Mia (Shane) Goodwin, Loretta and Jessi Martin, Kameron (Drew) Demott, and Schylar (Cory) Cronk. Dana’s children, Devvan McGinnis, Quentin Ames, and Drew Ames. Great-grandchildren Taylor (Andy) Johnson, Gus Goodwin, Joshua and Gracie Martin, Everly, Briar, Drake Cronk and Dawsyn Demott. Farley (Noah) Smith, London and Sofie Sample, Oliver, Charlie, Freeman, Sunny, Nels and Oakes Ames. Great great granddaughters, Wednesday and Salem Smith, and her niece Jan (Mike) Powers She also leaves behind many lifelong friends and acquaintances she made during her long and full life.

Graveside services are set for 1pm on December 3rd, 2025, at Hillcrest Cemetery, Skidmore. Viewing will be available starting Monday, November 24th, 2025, at Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.

Per her request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Skidmore Methodist Church, Hillcrest Cemetery.
