Craig Steven McIntyre, 57, passed away on July 29, 2025. Craig was born on January 27, 1968, living most of his life in Hopkins, Missouri.
He lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, laughter and a love for family, friends, and the pursuits that brought him joy. A proud graduate of Hopkins High School, class of 1986, Craig was a devoted father, son, and brother, known for his unwavering kindness and contagious laugh that could light up any room.
His quick wit and constant humor made every moment brighter, leaving a trail of smiles wherever he went. A passionate sports enthusiast, Craig found joy in cheering for the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Hopkins baseball team. His love for the game was legendary—you could always find him in the seats or the dugout, cheering with unmatched enthusiasm or sharing his knowledge of the sport. For over 15 years, Craig coached youth baseball in Hopkins, helping area youth connect to the game he loved, leaving a lasting legacy in the community. Beyond sports, Craig cherished watching John Wayne westerns, often captivated by the grit and heart of those classic films.
Later in life, he developed a passion for the open road, finding freedom and fulfillment in his final years as an over-the-road truck driver, exploring the highways and embracing the independence of the journey.
Craig is survived by his son, DeWayne McIntyre (Danielle); his parents, Gary and Jackie McIntyre; his brother, Adam McIntyre (Katrina); and his sister, Shelly McIntyre, two granddaughters, two nephews, a niece, and several aunts, uncles and cousins all of whom he loved deeply. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Ben McIntyre. Craig’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the Hopkins community that shared his passion for baseball and life’s simple pleasures.
Craig has been cremated under the care of the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri. A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later time. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Hopkins Baseball Association. Craig’s light will continue to shine through the memories of his laughter, kindness, love for the game, timeless westerns, and the open road. He will be deeply missed.
