Charles "Chuck" Richard Breedlove, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on Monday, August 10th, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on December 9th, 1936, in Red Oak, Iowa. After 35 years, Chuck moved to Maryville, Missouri, where he spent the remainder of his years.
Chuck was a proud graduate of Red Oak High School. He dedicated his professional life to Eveready, where he worked as a Maintenance Manager. His commitment to his work was matched only by his dedication to his family and his many hobbies.
On December 9th, 1956, Chuck married the love of his life, Mary Breedlove. Together, they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2013. Their union was blessed with four children: Tim Breedlove of Kansas City, MO; Tom (Robin) Breedlove of Omaha, NE; Todd (Angela) Breedlove of Overland Park, KS; and Tresa (Wyatt) Brummer of Fairway, KS. Chuck was also a devoted grandfather to Liz, Aidan, Nolen, Amanda, Addison, and Colton, and a proud great-grandfather to Angelo, Avery, Harper, Cooper, and Maddox. He is also survived by his brother, Steve (Teresa) Breedlove of Oklahoma, as well as several nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Charles Breedlove and Helen Roberta Breedlove, his beloved wife Mary, and his brother Doug Breedlove.
A man of many talents and interests, Chuck was an avid woodworker and golfer; A hobby which led him to score 3 holes-in-one. He was also a skilled fisherman and bowler. He had a passion for upholstering classic cars and furniture, and he enjoyed searching for antiques and attending auctions. Chuck was also known for his commitment to health and wellness, practicing yoga regularly.
Visitation will be held at First Christian Church in Maryville, Missouri, on Saturday, August 15th, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at the same location. A private family burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, IA early next week. Arrangements are being handled by Bram Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Maryville, MO.
Chuck Breedlove will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to his family, and his zest for life. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.
