Cathy Renee Sportsman

Cathy Renee Sportsman, a beloved resident of Graham, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19th, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on Monday, June 14th, 1965, in Gallup, New Mexico, Cathy was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Cathy dedicated her life to caring for others, a passion she pursued through her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. A graduate of the Northwest Missouri Practical School of Nursing, she served the community with compassion and dedication for 33 years most recently at the Benedictine Living Community. Her commitment to her patients and colleagues was unwavering, and she touched countless lives with her kindness and professionalism.

Cathy was a woman of many interests and talents. She had a zest for life that was evident in her love for traveling, attending drag races, and enjoying BBQs with family and friends. Music was a significant part of her life, and she relished attending concerts and experiencing live performances. Above all, Cathy treasured the time spent with her family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Cathy was also known for her generous spirit, volunteering annually at Camp Quality, where she brought joy and comfort to children facing challenging times.

She is survived by her loving son, Craig Sportsman, and his wife Jessica, of Savannah, MO; her adored grandchildren, Rylie and Rowdy Sportsman, also of Savannah, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Cathy was preceded in death by her mother, Janet L. Zeibig; her maternal grandparents, Wilma and Garland Coots; her brother, Tom Carter; her husband, Stan Sportsman; and her in-laws, Junior and Joan Sportsman.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Bram Funeral Home in Maryville, MO, on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service to celebrate Cathy's life will be held at the same location on Friday, July 24th, 2026, at 10:00 am. The burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Graham, MO.
