It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carl "Poddy" Edward VanSickle, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. Carl was born on September 15th, 1964, in Maryville, Missouri, and passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7th, 2026, at the age of 61.

Poddy was a graduate of Maryville High School and dedicated 24 years of his life to his career as a Supervisor at LMP Steel. His commitment and work ethic were admired by colleagues and friends alike.

Poddy had a deep love for horses and spent countless hours riding and roping. He was also passionate about leatherwork, gardening, and maintaining his home. Poddy cherished every moment spent with his family and friends, often attending auctions and gatherings with friends that brought joy to his life.

He is survived by his loving parents, Jim (Nancy) VanSickle of Lane, KS, and Karen (Larry) Farrens of Maryville, MO. Poddy leaves behind his brothers, Allen VanSickle and Mark VanSickle, both of Maryville, MO. He was a cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews: Desiree, Clint, Sierra, Caitlin, and Heather. Poddy's presence will be deeply missed by his family and the many friends he made throughout his life.

Poddy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Andy and Lucille VanSickle, and Nelson and Frieda Tunell, as well as his Aunt Betty Thompson and cousins Amanda Tunell and Jennifer Proffit.

A visitation to honor Poddy's life will be held at Bram Funeral Home in Maryville, MO, on Friday, June 12th, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. There will be a private family inurnment at a later date at High Prairie Cemetery in Elmo, MO. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home.

Poddy's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love for life will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
