Beverly Ann Walker, 88, of Maryville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Oak Pointe of Maryville, with family at her side.
Beverly was born in Parnell, Missouri, on January 9, 1937. She grew up in Parnell and graduated from Ravenwood High School in 1955.
Her parents were Lester M., and Alta G. (Smith) Wilkinson, they preceded her in death.
On November 20, 1955, at the United Methodist Church in Ravenwood, Missouri, Beverly was united in marriage to E. Willis Walker. They enjoyed 61 years together before his death on October 17, 2017.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Lester Wilkinson, and sisters, Mary Midyett, Carol Jean Palmer, and Donna Riley.
Early in her married life she had been a volunteer nurse at school, a Nurse’s Aide at St. Francis Hospital and a housekeeper at the former Knotty Pine Motel, all of Maryville. But most of her life was dedicated to raising her kids and being a homemaker.
Church was Beverly’s second home, and she was a longtime member of Laura Street Baptist Church in Maryville. She led the vacation bible school at the church for many years and had sung in the choir and taught Sunday school.
She was a member of the former ladies' club, the Gideons, and she and Willis had delivered Meals-on-wheels for many years.
For 17 years she and Willis had wintered in Texas. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and trips to Branson with the grandkids.
Survivors include her children, Bill (Stephanie) Walker, Maryville, Missouri, Dr. Dan (Susan) Walker, Brownsburg, Indiana, Peggy (Jeff) Ostrander, Waukee, Iowa, and Ben (Brenda) Walker, Creston, Iowa, 10 granddaughters, Jodi (Dave) Griffin, Terra (Mark) Snyder, Ann (Daniel) Barnett, Ellen (Robert) Ellis, Allison (Kenny) Froment, Kelsie (Taylor) Royster, Nicole (Tony) Henry, Hailey Walker, Abby Walker, and Grace Ostrander, 18 great grandchildren and one on the way. And by her sister, Shirley Downing, Maryville, Missouri, and brothers-in-law, Ronald Gene Smith, and Harley Walker, sister-in-law, Evelyn Summa, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM, on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri.
Funeral services for Beverly will be held at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Laura Street Baptist Church, Maryville, Missouri. The burial will follow in the Nodaway Memorial Gardens, also of Maryville.
Memorials are suggested to the vacation bible program at Laura Street Baptist Church, 120 S. Laura Street, Maryville, Missouri, 64468.
