Herman (Jay) Sticken, 85, of Graham, MO, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 11, 2015, at the SSM Health ER.
Herman was born on January 10, 1930, in Graham, MO, to Robert John and Sofie (Finkbeiner) Sticken. He graduated from Graham High School in 1948, and had attended NWMSU in Maryville. He had resided in Nodaway County most all his life.
Herman was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed family get-togethers and he loved to fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters; and his wife Lenora Nell (Lane) Sticken, in 2010.
He retired after 22 years in Environmental Services at the Student Union Building at NWMSU, Maryville. He was a veteran of the US Air Force.
Survivors include his 5 children, H. John Sticken, Jr., Graham, MO, Everett L. Sticken, Pickering, MO, Sherri L. Volner, Quitman, MO, Larry D. Sticken, Kirksville, MO, and Donald E. Sticken, Maryville, MO; 1 brother, Robert J. (Barbara) Sticken, Jr., Savannah, MO; 17 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. The burial will follow in the Prairie Home Cemetery, Graham, MO. The minister will be Pastor Paul McKim.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM, Monday, June 15, 2015, at the funeral home.
